I'm a documentary portrait and wedding photographer.
I grew up in the South Wales area and left when I was 21 to see the world; now we have returned to the most gorgeous part of South Wales, Cwmtawe, the Swansea Valley which reaches from the Brecon Beacons National Park down to the City of Swansea.
The Gower Coast is on our doorstep and the beauty of Wales is simply stunning and unique. Free time means we are able to get away to beaches, hills and woods to explore with our dog, a handsome German Shepherd who is now 9 and loves the evenings by "his" wood burner eating a sausage or a salty snack. He adores walking on Rhossili Bay beach and it is one of our favourite places on the Gower coast with the beach (shown below) one of the top 10 beaches in the world.
Portraits and wedding photography in and around South Wales and beyond, meeting people and looking at scenes as they unfold, I love the what, where and how people experience different situations. It's all about emotion, moment and light. Just being there to observe a day or a moment in time candidly. It is the people who make the image for me.
Having a portrait of yourself, your family or loved ones is important and something to be treasured. I encourage everyone I photograph to have a framed print, it is what it's all about for a documentary portrait and wedding photographer.
Observing not posing, people watching for that moment and freezing time in that split second.
When families get together for a wedding there's always an opportunity for a few group pictures I do try and keep to no more than a handful as it's a day to remember and people to share time with.
If you do have any special requests please do let me know in advance, and please do say hello on Facebook.
I am in the process of putting together several of my personal projects for publication, you can see some of the images here.
