Candid photography, also called documentary or reportage photography, is my style.
I take photographs of people quietly and unobtrusively, candid photography, I love this style, the work I produce, the look on a persons face when seeing their photographs for the first time, the smiles and the tears when it is "just right"
It started out as my Dad's idea, a hobby which would change my life, taking photographs at my brothers wedding developed into a dream job. After working on film and TV shows at Pinewood studios I went into TV News with American TV recording historic world events as they happened. This allowed me to work on my style, I became an observer of people and situations. Those candid moments when I can just watch and see the passion, emotion and joy between people, I love that moment. It's all about Emotion, Moment and Light.
Portrait and wedding photography inspire me, it is the people and the history of the day which captivates me. Watching the moment when two people marry, the joy is there for all to see. Being allowed to be the photographer for that special moment is amazing.
Meeting people, talking and finding out about them, creating an image from that moment, making a print which tells that story. For me as a photographer it's a unique feeling to see that moment, that look, that touch and to be able to freeze it in time. Making prints is what I enjoy it is what the candid documentary approach is all about, your history, your family archive, being able to see back in time and share the moments with your children and grandchildren. These are special moments which should be preserved as a print or an album.
That's enough about me now let's talk about you and what I can do for you.

That's me age 11 on the left, a film selfie. On the right I'm 18 a photograph made by a friend. In the centre the photograph made by my wife on a visit to Wales, it's a favourite of mine.
Family photographs are our history. I have prints of these and other photographs, I cherish them all. My candid photography and unobtrusive style enable me to become your observer for the day to bring you those moments which tell your story and make your history.
